Glenn Beck had an interesting segment about looking people in the eyes. I'm all about it. If someone won't look me in the eyes, I can't connect, I don't trust, and I am leary of them. I tell a lot about a person when I look them in the eyes. If you can look me straight on, you're my friend forever.
I LOVE looking in my husband's eyes. They're blue ... and I melt. When I counsel people, (and I make mention of it in my marriage books), I ask them, "When's the last time you looked in your spouse's eyes? Did he/she look back? What did you feel?" Many people fail to connect with their spouse's eyes during the course of the day. I don't know about you, but when I do, I have to stop and kiss mine. It's connective. When I find myself a bit frazzled, all I have to do is stop and connect, and it slows me down, calms me down, and reminds me what's truly important.
How about you? Where do you rate "looking in the eyes" with people you encounter? What about your spouse? Do you find that it softens your heart toward him/her when you make that eye connection? Love to hear from you.
